The Bristol Palin controversy continues for fans of Dancing With the Stars, and now there’s even more fuel for their fire. A popular website called “Vote For the Worst” is campaigning to encourage people to vote for Bristol Palin after the finale of Dancing With the Stars. The website posted a statement yesterday that defies logic and urges people to vote for Bristol Palin because “it’s time for a Vote For the Worst win.”
Here is the text from yesterday’s post about Bristol Palin on votefortheworst.com:
We did it! Bristol Palin makes the top 3 of Dancing With the Stars. Well, this is it. Bristol Palin actually made it to the finale of Dancing With the Stars and knocked out the obviously much better dancer, Brandy, thanks to help from VFTW. Great work, everyone. The shocked looks on the faces of everyone on the show were hysterical and totally worth it. Now that we’ve helped Bristol into the finale, can we get her to win? We sure will try not to repudiate Bristol’s hard work – it’s time for a VFTW win. Great job, everyone.
About Vote for the Worst (as posted on their website):
Votefortheworst.com was started in 2004 to support voting for the entertaining contestants who the producers would hate to see win on American Idol. We vote en masse for the contestant that we feel provides the most entertaining performances that go against what the producers want in a winner and that annoy the viewing public. We don't necessarily vote for the worst technical singer; we take into account many factors like the contestant's personality, how well they dance and move around the stage, if they talk back to the judges or have an attitude, and how likely they are to annoy everyone when they stick around. We vote for the most entertaining contestant using our own criteria, but bad vocals are usually standard.
OK, it’s one thing to vote for the underdog, but Vote For the Worst’s statement is simply not reasonable. The website clearly states that Brandy was the much better dancer. Where's the sense in voting for someone solely for the reason that they are the “worst”? It defies logic. While Bristol Palin has definitely improved over the course of season eleven, she has been at the bottom of the leader board for the last six weeks. Real fans just want to see the game played fairly.
