Von Trapp family didn't want Carrie Underwood in 'The Sound of Music Live'

Tonight Carrie Underwood is the star of "The Sound of Music Live" but some of the Von Trapp family did not like her as the choice to play Maria. On Dec. 5, Yahoo reported that this family is speaking out and they had other people in mind. Do you think that Carrie is doing a great job?

Myles Von Trapp is the great grandson of Maria. When he found out that Carrie would play her, he was not very happy because to him Carrie is not an actress. She is a singer and won a reality TV show. It is true that Carrie hasn't done a ton of acting, but she has done some. She was in the movie "Soul Surfer."

First off Myles did not understand why they would try to remake this movie. Mary Martin and Julie Andrews were both respected actresses to him, but Carrie doesn't act. He thought Anne Hathaway would be a good fit for the role. Carrie did admit that she was afraid of tripping, but of course everything went well.

At one point, he considered not even watching the show. It is unknown if Myles Von Trapp changed his mind and gave Carrie Underwood a chance in "The Sound of Music Live." He felt like they did need to be educated so maybe it was best to watch it.
