A recent demo for the world auto press at the company's safety center near Gothenburg, Sweden saw an unoccupied S60 test car plow into a trailer instead of automatically stopping.

The event was captured by Wired, but in all fairness, the car was a preproduction model and Volvo said if a driver were aboard he or she would have been alert to the system not being properly enabled. Part of the malfunction was attributed to a battery fault.

It's a fair bet this automotive electronics glitch will be worked out by the time the system hits the showrooms in the 2011 S60.
