The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office says a missing Deltona mother and her two children are deceased. Volusia County Sheriff’s spokesperson Gary Davidson says that determination was, “…based on the investigative findings [by the] Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit.” Davidson says the search for the bodies of the mother and children, as well as the investigation of the case is ongoing Thursday evening and no charges have been made. Sheriff’s investigators and a victim advocate met early Thursday evening with the family and briefed them on the case, Davidson notes. He also says investigators “…are continuing to talk to Luis Toledo, who is the husband of Yessenia Suarez and is considered a person of interest in the case.”
Cars found Wednesday
The Sheriff’s Office says Suarez had two cars registered in her name, and both have been located. One was found in the driveway of her Deltona home, and the other one was discovered in the parking lot of a Publix store in Lake Mary Wednesday.
Suarez and children missing since Tuesday night
Volusia County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Brandon Haught said Wednesday that 28-year old Yessenia Suarez, and her 8-year old son and 9-year old daughter had not been seen since Tuesday night. Family members asked the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office to check on the woman and her children Wednesday morning, after Suarez had been involved in a domestic violence call in Lake Mary Tuesday evening.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested the suspect in the domestic violence case, Suarez’ husband, 31-year old Luis Toledo; on a battery charge from Lake Mary Police. Toledo had shown up while Volusia Deputies were looking for Suarez at her Deltona home Wednesday morning. The Sheriff’s Office said Toledo had left the scene of the Lake Mary incident Tuesday night before local police arrived.
