That kind of spirit runs through the corporate culture at AT&T around the nation.
So much so, that more than 500 AT&T Georgia employees are receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) for their efforts and time spent volunteering in 2013.
This is an honor presented by the President for a pattern of sustained volunteer service. Every one of the 520 employees volunteered 100 hours or more, making more than 50,000 hours of service in Georgia by AT&T employees to help improve their communities around the state.
Also, more than 67 AT&T employees will receive the Gold Award for putting in over 500 volunteer hours in 2013.
“Our customers recognize AT&T as a company that connects people to their world through the latest broadband technologies. Our employees are also making connections in the communities we serve through their volunteer service, and we’re especially proud of this special recognition for more than 500 AT&T Georgia employees,” says Beth Shiroishi, AT&T Georgia President. “Every one of the employees earning this recognition is giving their own time and energy to improve the lives of others. On behalf of AT&T, we thank them for their considerable personal commitment to make a difference in their corner of Georgia.”
Nationwide, more than 3,000 AT&T employees will be cited for their volunteerism.
The President’s Volunteer Service Award is an honor put out by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. This is a group created by President George W. Bush, in 2003, to honor all that volunteers do for our nation.
