Akron’s Heaven Can Wait is holding their second Winter Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, February 21 from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm. The meeting will be held at Panera Bread, 689 Howe Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls.
The group had such a great turnout at their orientation meeting in January that they decided to hold a second meeting for those who weren’t able to attend the first one. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, have computer access and volunteer two events per month. Deadline for sign up is TODAY. (Feb. 20)
Heaven Can Wait is the only animal rescue in the greater Cleveland area that concentrates on rescuing pets solely from the Summit County Animal Shelter. They provide medical care and behavioral training and place them in foster homes until they can find adoptive homes for them. The Summit County shelter is a kill facility, so the Heaven Can Wait is saving the lives of the dogs and cats that they pull from there.
The organization is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely on donations.
