This is an excellent opportunity for adults and older children to enjoy nature while also helping to maintain the trails that allow others to enjoy it, too.
Volunteers should meet at the Carvins Cove Trail Head parking lot on the Bennett Springs side of Carvins Cove.
Pathfinders for Greenways will provide the tools, equipment, and direction to help volunteers restore the Four Gorge Trail from the damage it sustained due to this spring's heavy rain.
The Roanoke Chapter of the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) will provide drinks and snacks for volunteers.
To sign up to participate, email email@example.com. Those interested in working an afternoon shift are encouraged to contact the organizers and let them know; times for work sessions are flexible. The workday will be canceled if there aren't at least two volunteers signed up to participate.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear sunglasses or work glasses, sturdy shoes (hiking boots or athletic shoes), and work or gardening gloves.
