A beagle mix at the South Los Angeles Animal Care and Control facility in Calif., is in desperate need of assistance.

A volunteer issued the following urgent plea for help:

ABSOLUTE EMERGENCY!!!! I had intended to network Winchell who is back in medical but just got word that he is doubled over in pain and peeing blood. Could be a kidney or bladder infection. Could be a stone that has not shown up in x-rays that were taken. In addition, Winchell has a fractured tibia / fibula -- for which he will need surgery. This is such a precious little guy, who lays quietly in his kennel and inches close as you approach to greet him.

She added:

It's just not fair that this little sweet soul should be suffering. And, yes, he IS ON MEDS for pain -- the shelter is doing every they can to save him. However, if no one steps up -- Winchell will not be kept in pain. Please be mindful and respectful of that.

Please share this information for Winchell.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact the South L.A. shelter immediately at (213) 485-0214. There are funds available to qualified rescue if the donor is contacted prior to pull. If you can help with pledges, please let me know at once. Email: ivegonetothedogs@gmail.com
