The Fresno State volleyball team, coming off a three game winning streak, fell to San Diego State Saturday in three straight sets.
The Bulldogs (16-9, 7-4) won the first set 25-22 but fell to the Aztecs (18-7, 9-3) in three straight sets 25-17, 25-19, 25-23, respectively.
Junior middle blocker Lauren Albertson led the Bulldogs offense hitting .478 with 11 kills. Junior outside hitter Korrin Wild had 14 kills and 13 digs and senior setter Barbara Alcantara contributed three aces.
The Bulldogs took an early lead in the first set and held on to that lead to take the first win 25-22. The Bulldogs trailed in the second set, however, and would be unable to recover.
San Diego jumped to a 6-1 lead to start the third set and although Fresno State was able to come within three, the Aztecs held on to win the set.
The fourth and final set remained close but the Aztecs would pull out a 25-23 victory to win the match.
Six conference matches remain for the Bulldogs, including road trips to Wyoming and Colorado State followed by a home match Nov. 13 against UC Irvine.
