Voice of Elmo Kevin Clash: ‘You can’t sue me’

The former voice of “Sesame StreetElmo, Kevin Clash, spoke with TMZ March 1, stating that the four men who are accusing Clash of sexual abuse to a minor have no real case against him. While this may come as a shock to many; Kevin might be right.

According to Clash, too much time has passed. The statue of limitations is a common law that sets a maximum time after the alleged event where legal proceedings based on said event may be initiated. Therefore, Kevin has filed a motion to have the four lawsuits dismissed. Cecil Singleton is the only identified man.

Clash states that the law for sexually-motivated crimes which he’s been accused of, has a limitation of six years. The crimes he’s been alleged of committing, happened more than ten years ago. The men are claiming that the sexual abuse caused them mental and psychological damage and that they only recently became aware of the damage which is why they are just now coming forward with the lawsuit.

TMZ says that Kevin Clash wants the judge to dismiss the charges as soon as possible.
