According to a Summons in civil action filed in the Middle District Pennsylvania court on Tuesday and entered on March 20, 2013, 53-year-old voice of Elmo Kevin Clash is being sued again. This time by 24-year-old Stephen Sheldon alleging the actor engaged in anal and oral sex with him from the time he was 16-years-old. Sheldon has filed a lawsuit in a federal court this week making this the fourth complaint against the actor.
Sheldon is suing Clash for $75,000 alleging Diversity-Libel, Assault, Slander. There were three other parties that came forth and pressed charges against Sheldon in Nov. 2012, one of his accusers settled outside of court agreeing to drop the charges. However, Sheldon is the only claimant whose allegations include issuing drugs to a minor. In the lawsuit filed, Sheldon says Clash threw a methamphetamine and sex party and had his chauffeur drive from New York to Pennsylvania to transport Sheldon to him for sex while the chauffeur watched and masturbated. Further, this time the charges include allegations that Clash further broke the law by enticing the plaintiff to travel across interstate lines for sex when a crime was being committed.
In this case, Clash was enticing Sheldon who was a minor at the time. Further the plaintiff alleges that Clash gave him methamphetamine and poppers, to enhance sexual relations.
The claims against Clash include:
- Count I - Sexual Battery For Childhood Sex Abuse
- Count II - Travel with Intent to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct in Violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2423
- Count III - Coercion and Enticement to Sexual Activity in Violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2422
Based on the complaint filed, Sheldon met clash in 2004 at a social networking party. He says he shared his aspirations with Clash who then promised to help him with his career. Being young and naive, Sheldon was unaware that he would suffer emotional and psychological trauma from the abuse in his near future. Further, Clash showered him with attention and affection which he misappropriated as love. Now as a young adult Sheldon says he has suffered emotionally and psychologically and continues to.
Although Clash resigned from Sesame Street Workshop back in Nov. his voice will continue to accompany Elmo through 2014 because the audio had already been recorded in advance.
