"From The Files Of Unsolved Mysteries:Voice From The Grave" is a 1996 true story based on the murder of Teresita Basa and her killer Allen Showery. It debuted on NBC as a crimes of passion movie.It is directed by David Jackson and written by Bill Phillips and Edithe Swensen. The cast stars: Megan Ward, Kevin Dobson and John Terlesky.

"Voice From The Grave" synopsis/plot

After a nurse vanishes and is later found murdered, police race to find out the identity of the killer which is finally revealed in the form of a ghostly voice.

The true story made headlines when a hospital staff member was murdered by a hospital orderly who offered to fix her television after work. According to court records, Teresita Basa was murdered by Allen Showery in her Chicago apartment in 1977. He was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to 14 years in prison. He has since been released, according to the Movies Based On True Stories Archives.

The Teresita Basa case was aired on an episode of Unsolved Mysteries.
