Vogelsong struggles in Giants 6-3 loss to Cardinals

The Giants lost 6-3 to the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday afternoon in San Francisco.

Carlos Beltran drove in three runs against his former team including an RBI single in the first off Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong.

Vogelsong (0-1) took the loss for the Giants after giving up five runs on nine hits and two walks in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out six.

Jose Mijares, George Kontos, Javier Lopez, and Santiago Casilla all made relief appearances.

Lopez surrendered two hits an earned run, but the rest of the bullpen held the Cards hit-less.

Hunter Pence and Pablo Sandoval both homered, but the Giants still fell short.

Shelby Miller (1-0) got his first win of the season and Mitchel Boggs earned his first save.
