Each month in 2013 we will be featuring a different spirit and cocktails that include that particular ingredient as its cornerstone. The featured spirit for January is the all-to-versatile vodka.
Vodka is a distilled beverage made of water and ethanol with small parts of impurities and flavorings. Vodka is made by distilling fermented substances like grains, potatoes, and at times fruits or sugar.
Today's features include the Blue Woo Woo Ice Pick and Mudslide
Blue Woo Woo
Ingredients:
- 1/2 oz Vodka
- 1/2 oz Blueberry schnapps
- Balance with Cranberry juice
Mixing instructions:
Pour 1/2 oz. vodka and a 1/2 oz. blueberry schnapps in a tall glass. Balance with cranberry juice.
Ice Pick
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz Vodka
- 6 oz Iced tea
- Lemon juice to taste
Mixing instructions:
Put Vodka in glass fill with iced tea. Stir in lemon to taste.
Mudslide
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Vodka
- 2 oz Kahlua
- 2 oz Bailey's irish cream
Mixing instructions:
Mix with cracked ice in a shaker. Serve in a chilled highball glass
