Palm Desert – Learn how to be proactive against the onset of osteoporosis with the help of 2-pound weights during a free presentation on March 18, 2013.
The 45-minute strength training presentation will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the VNA California Palm Desert branch located at 42-606 Cook St., Suite 202 in Palm Desert. 15 strength training exercises will be shown to help build muscle, bone strength and help to prevent osteoporosis. This is a watch and learn presentation and no participation is required.
Research indicates seniors who exercise with weights face fewer health problems relating to mobility, balance, and arthritic condition by maintaining and building muscle and bone strength. This, in turn, affords them the opportunity to live a more independent and active lifestyle.
Besides the strength training demo, free blood pressure readings and balance screens will also be available to all attendees. This event is FREE but space is limited. Call toll-free to reserve a spot at 855-VNA-CA11 (1-855-862-2211). Men and women of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to attend.
