Vizio's first Windows 8 tablet announced at CES

Vizio unveiled today, at the Consumer Electronics Association Show (CES) in Las Vegas, its first Windows 8 tablet. The tablet is 11.6-inches with a 1080p HD display. The release date is estimated for the spring or early summer.

The tablet specs include and AMD Z60 dual-core 1GHz processor, 64GB of SSD storage, 2GB of RAM, a 2-megapixel camera, and micro-HDMI/micro-USB ports.

Since the system will run Windows 8 Pro instead of Windows RT, typically found on tablets, it will have the capability to run older desktop applications such as Apple's iTunes along with new Windows 8 apps. It also promises to play such games as Call of Duty and Modern Warfare 2.

Visio reps also promise that this tablet will come with no bloatware typically found on other computers and tablets. Bloatware is all the typically unwanted software titles that are pre-installed, many for advertisers.

A price was not announced for this tablet yet.
