Vizcaya VXOP aged rum from Dominican Republic

An award-winning aged rum from the Dominican Republic, Vizcaya turns heads with its richly luxurious and smooth character, featuring a unique spicy finish.

Vizcaya VXOP Cask 21 Super Premium Rum is a blend of rums aged 8 to 12 years in a solera system by a noted producer of excellent rums.

The color is deep amber with a medium to heavy viscosity. Initial aromas of holiday spices, caramel, dried fruits and butterscotch suggest a very long maturing in bourbon oak. Flavors of buttery maple, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg are complimented by apricot, smoky oak, toffee, molasses and vanilla. The finish is sweet, warm and long lasting.

This rum is presented in a beautiful decanter that suggests a fine cognac, which gives it strong appeal as a gift item.

Vizcaya is aged and blended by Oliver and Oliver, a family that has been making rum since 1820. Since 1960, they have been producing their fine rums in the Dominican Republic.

Vizcaya VXOP uses sugar cane harvested by hand and freshly pressed, fermented and distilled in small batches. The first maturing occurs in selected oak barrels that formerly held bourbon. The rums are blended and further aged in a solera system which imparts a complexity of tones and flavors.

Vizcaya VXOP aged rum earned a Silver Award at the RumXP International Tasting Competition at the Miami Rum Renaissance Festival.
