‘Vividred Operation’ to be simulcast on Hulu and Crunchyroll

In an announcement earlier today, anime publisher Aniplex of America revealed that they would begin simulcasting the anime series “Vividred Operation” through Hulu.com and Crunchyroll.com this Sunday.

“Vividred Operation” is a new anime series produced by the animation studio A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online) and is directed by Kazuhiro Takamura (Strike Witches). The first episode of “Vividred Operation” will be making its debut in Japan on Jan. 11, 2013.

The series takes place in a futuristic world in which science has solved all of the world’s problems, allowing humanity to live in peace. It follows the story of Akane Isshiki, a carefree 14 year old girl who lives with her little sister Momo and her grandfather Kenjirou, a genius inventor who only creates useless devices. Living happily, Akane’s life is changed forever when an unknown enemy called “the Alone” appears and begins targeting the “Manifestation Engine”, the machine responsible for humanity’s peaceful life. With no weapons able to stop the threat the world must now rely on a lone girl wearing a red “Pallet Suit”, which wields great power, to bring together allies and save the world.

Anime fans can look for “Vividred Operation” to be available through Hulu.com and Crunchyroll.com beginning with a subtitled episode one on Jan. 13, 2013 at 7am PST. New episodes will then follow every Sunday at 7am PST.
