The co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment has decided to “pull the plug” on Mindy McCready’s sex tape. Steve Hirsch, founder of Vivid Entertainment, ceased all DVD distribution of the footage following the country singer’s suicide, TMZ reported on Feb. 19.
Hirsch told TMZ that the DVD distribution freeze of McCready’s sex tape is effective at once and that the porn company currently has no plans to resume distribution of the “Baseball Mistress” sex tape.
In 1997, McCready was engaged to actor Dean Cain. The two ended their relationship amid allegations of abuse one year later. After her break up with Cain, McCready dated a variety of men, including NHL player Drew Berehowsky and aspiring singer Billy McKnight, the father of her oldest son, Zander. Mindy's most recent boyfriend, record producer David Wilson, was found dead of a gunshot wound on January 13. Wilson was the father of McCready's youngest son, Zane. The Cleburn County, Ark.sheriff's department has an open investigation into Wilson's death
Vivid Entertainment, also known as Vivid Video, released the porn video “Baseball Mistress," which McCready said she never authorized, in 2010 following McCready’s stint on “Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab.” In the tape Mindy talks about an alleged affair she had with married MLB legend Roger Clemens that began when she was 15-years-old. Clemons, through his attorney, denied the affair with Mindy McCready.
Steve Hirsch said that digital distribution is more difficult to regulate, but that Vivid has plans to pull all digital copies of the McCready video from the Vivid website immediately.
Mindy McCready, 37, was found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound at her home in Arkansas on Feb. 17. The “Guys Do It All the Time” and “Ten Thousand Angels” singer leaves behind two young sons, six-year-old Zander and nine-month-old Zane.
