The American Revolution II strengthed by illegal, brutal attempts to squelch it

In Tuesday's 1% battle against Occupy Wall Street in New York City, from its early morning surprise forced eviction out of its Zuccotti Park encampment by Mayor Bloomberg's supported NYC riot geared police raid, and some 150 arrests, followed by police occupying the park, to the court ruling later today against the eviction, this evening, the human rights defender occupiers sent a jubilant but urgent call to the public saying the 99% is asking for recruits and supplies as some 1,500 American rights troopers streamed back to reclaim and resettle their park encampment this evening. A policeman had announced on a megaphone that the park had reopened, occupiers were searched, as the judge ruling included no sleeping or tents in the park, and the revolution continues.

Paraphrasing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and police sentiments against Occupy civil and human rights defenders ousted just after 1:00 am this morning, Chris Hedges mimicked today, "Get back into your cages, they are telling us. Return to watching the lies, absurdities, trivia and celebrity gossip we feed you in 24-hour cycles on television."

"Invest your emotional energy in the vast system of popular entertainment. Run up your credit card debt. Pay your loans. Be thankful for the scraps we toss. Chant back to us our phrases about democracy, greatness and freedom. Vote in our rigged political theater. Send your young men and women to fight and die in useless, unwinnable wars that provide corporations with huge profits. Stand by mutely as our bipartisan congressional super committee, either through consensus or cynical dysfunction, plunges you into a society without basic social services including unemployment benefits. Pay for the crimes of Wall Street.

After the raid and eviction actions against Occupy in New York City's financial district, the protesters' lawyers argued that "the city unfairly infringed on their First Amendment rights, noting that the city has allowed others to pitch tents for flea markets in city parks for months at a time without police interference," reported the Current.

According to Reuters, a judge upheld New York City's legal justification for evicting Occupy Wall Street protesters from the park early Tuesday when "police in riot gear broke up the two-month-old demonstration against economic inequality."

The final ruling today was that the Occupy demonstrators were allowed back into Zuccotti Park tonight but not allowed tents or tarps.

"Around 5.30pm police began letting small groups of people through the barricades as huge cheers went up. However anyone carrying large bags or personal items was turned away," Daily Mail reported. "Numbers in the square have now swelled to around 1,500.

"A policeman used a megaphone to address the protesters in downtown Manhattan saying: 'Zuccotti Park is now open.'"

"Liberty Square is our home. The 1% stole the homes of thousands, but they will not steal Liberty Square! Reoccupation begins NOW!" the Occupy Wall Street website said in a 5:59 pm EST, the same message then distributed through emails and Twitter.

OWS said, "If you're in the NYC area: join the thousands gathering to defend our home, our movement, and our rights! Come to Liberty Square (Zuccotti Park) now!

"If you're elsewhere: blast this call with every form of media the 99% can muster!"

Strength of the revolution was expressed not only in Tweets throughout the day, but also on alternative media.

"Our decaying corporate regime has strutted in Portland, Oakland and New York with their baton-wielding cops into a fool’s paradise," contributed Chris Hedges Tuesday on Truthout.

"They think they can clean up 'the mess'—always employing the language of personal hygiene and public security—by making us disappear.

"They think we will all go home and accept their corporate nation, a nation where crime and government policy have become indistinguishable, where nothing in America, including the ordinary citizen, is deemed by those in power worth protecting or preserving, where corporate oligarchs awash in hundreds of millions of dollars are permitted to loot and pillage the last shreds of collective wealth, human capital and natural resources, a nation where the poor do not eat and workers do not work, a nation where the sick die and children go hungry, a nation where the consent of the governed and the voice of the people is a cruel joke."

From Occupy Wall Street on Twitter earlier today, a message read, "@OccupyWallSt: #ows has won a restraining order against the NYPD & the city. Standoff between the occupiers and police."

That was soon followed by studentactivism Angus Johnston's Tweet, "Everyone's moving out from Duarte Sq, heading back to Zuccotti. #OWS."

Adam Green and the PCCC team were among many who participated in today's campaign for rights.

"If you personally know any New York political leaders, please call them and ask them to take a stand against this outrage, Adams wrote.

"The people united will never be defeated."

The people did unite today. Occupy Wall Street is alive and well, despite deprived of tents and tarps. Mayor Bloomberg's illegal stand against the occupiers was overturned in court.

"The billionaire mayor of New York, enriched by a deregulated Wall Street, is unable to grasp why people would spend two months sleeping in an open park and marching on banks," writes Hedges.

"He says he understands that the Occupy protests are “cathartic” and “entertaining,” as if demonstrating against the pain of being homeless and unemployed is a form of therapy or diversion, but that it is time to let the adults handle the affairs of state.

"Democratic and Republican mayors, along with their parties, have sold us out. But for them this is the beginning of the end."

For today, the people have won a major victory not only at Zuccotti Park near Wall Street, but also worldwide, as people globally watched on the Occupy Wall Street Livestream events of the long day of people defending civil and human rights.

As Hedges inspired this evening, "This is what a revolution looks like."
