Vitamin D lowers your diabetes risk

It’s a new year and one of your goals should be to make sure your getting plenty of Vitamin D. Did you know that vitamin D deficiency is now a global epidemic? An estimated 1 billion people do not have sufficient vitamin D levels. If you have a vitamin D deficiency you’re 91% more likely to have insulin resistance and your risk of getting type 2 diabetes doubles. This is not good news at all.

Everyone seems to think that vitamin D is only a bone vitamin for the body. However, vitamin D is an essential hormone and almost every cell and tissue in your body has receptors for it. Low vitamin D levels are associated with heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes. Why? Since your heart muscle, blood vessels, and circulatory system contain vitamin D receptors it is critical they receive adequate amounts of vitamin D in order to function efficiently.

The majority of Americans have vitamin D levels below the minimum recommended concentration of 50 ng/mL. Even in Hawaii some people do not get enough vitamin D. They eat poorly; never go out in the sun and even stay covered up in clothing which blocks the sun. In addition, they do not take vitamin D supplements either.
Vitamin D is essential for a healthy immune system. Studies have shown that vitamin D reduces the risk of developing type 1 diabetes. Unfortunately, people with diabetes usually have lower levels of vitamin D than the non-diabetes population. Another key factor is people that have poor cardiovascular health like heart attacks and strokes almost all have low vitamin D levels.

It’s the New Year and time to get your vitamin D level tested. In addition to eating the right foods you should start taking a vitamin D3 supplement.
Phyto D 2000, formulated by Dr. D’Adamo, includes a unique combination of vitamin D3 and K and is compounded with Epimedium and Drynaria –two traditional Chinese herbs with long historical usage in the support of proper bone and connective tissue health. Vitamin D has essential, wide-ranging effects throughout the body, including maximizing bone health to stabilizing mood and energy levels. Increased dietary vitamin K intake is associated with increased bone formation and decreased bone breakdown. Phyto D 2000 also includes Strontium, a naturally occurring mineral routinely prescribed throughout Europe that has been shown in many studies to reduce the risk of bone fractures.

Have fun in the sun and increase your vitamin D level with Phyto D 2000. For more information on Phyto D 2000 ~ http://www.northamericanpharmacal.com/affiliates/juliew.php/
