The PlayStation Vita hasn't been doing so hot since its debut. This is quite understandable considering that its price is as high as $250. It sold 322,488 units in its first week but only sold 74,104 in the second week. Its predecssor, the PSP, continues to sell better than the Vita in Japan.
It's only inevitable that Sony would have to slash the hefty price of the Vita considering that their competitors, the 3DS, has done the same. The 3G model has been cut from 29,980 Yen ($390) to 24,999 Yen ($325). There's no price reduction for the Wi-Fi only model but I'll bet my left buttcheek that it'll receive a price cut before the world ends in 2012 (shame on you if you actually believe that the world will end in 2012 by the way).
