Visual Communications has announced it will begin taking early bird submissions for its 3rd Annual Project Catalyst to be held at the Directors Guild of America, May 3 - 4, 2014, during the 2014 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
Project Catalyst provides a unique opportunity for media creatives of Asian descent to showcase their project to Studios, Networks, Financiers, Producers, Production Companies, Agents and Managers.
Recognizing the burgeoning fields of broadcast media, Project Catalyst seeks submissions for narrative feature films and original television pilot projects.
At last year's Project Catalyst, Selectees, combined, had over 160 meetings and numerous networking engagements, enabling them with the contacts, information and confidence they need to make their projects.
An esteemed jury comprised of Susan Jin Davis (SVP Strategic Services, Comcast), Gloria Fan (VP Film Production & Development, Mosaic Media), Brian Tee (actor/producer), and Alan Yang (writer/supervising producer "Parks and Recreation") awarded the Jury Prize to Soham Mehta and Rajiv Shah for their film "Run the Tide" for which they also received $2,500 and $75,000 in post-production services courtesy of Tunnel Post. Honorable Mention was awarded to Viet Nguyen and Chris Dinh.
Up to ten narrative creatives will be chosen for Project Catalyst.
In addition to participating in the panels, a pitch session with the Jury and one-on-one industry meetings, Selectees will have the opportunity to meet with Industry Participants from the new media and interactive world, looking for distinct and new voices.
