Down under, resides a young woman who happens to be autistic, her name is Nekea Blagoev. An exceptional artist, multi-talented and with such talent the ability to produce visual art that will make the audience want to participate, want to breathe, absorb, consume the essence this extraordinary artist puts forth.
In her own words ‘Creativity runs through my veins, I was able to draw before I could talk or walk, I enjoy all things I can make with my hands from drawing, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, photography, creative writing, painting and cooking signature meals, I see cooking as an art on a plate, and I'll always give something a go even if I haven't done it before, I hope to achieve all that life offers me in the field of arts…’
Nekea recently completed a series of paintings with mixed media and smashed glass, which was exhibited at a solo exhibition called 'get smashed' in November 2011. Her Solo Exhibit Get Smashed [supported by mentors from Crossroad Arts in Mackay, Queensland] was held at the Ocean International, on 14th November 2011, whereby every single piece of art sold with several buyers commissioning future works!

This young lady has recieved many certificates of appreciation for her contribution to exhibits and to the community at large. In September of 2011, Nekea received a Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation for her visual art contribution for her submission to the International Naturally Autistic People Awards. She also received an invitation to be Australia’s representative as Host for the 2012 International Naturally Autistic People Awards and Convention.
The international community and Canadian public will be honored to view Nekea’s art at the upcoming 2012 September event in British Columbia, Canada. An exciting opportunity for attending international delegates and autistic artists.
