While it may still officially be summertime, autumn is only a few short weeks away. Already, everyone is sipping on pumpkin flavored coffee and steamed apple cider from Dunkin Donuts. Of course, if you’re looking for the fresh stuff along with a fun way to spend the day then it’s the perfect time of year to visit Princeton’s Terhune Orchards.
September 15-16 is the Orchard’s annual “Apple Day,” which is now a two day fest celebrating all things apple. It runs from 10 am to 5 pm and includes corn mazes, scarecrow building, an adventure barn, and a pig roast. Apple pie, apple cider, and other apple favorites will also be sold. You can also pick your own apples at the Van Kirk Road Orchard just down the way. Apple day does charge a small admission of $5 but children under 3 years old are free.
If you can’t make it there for Apple Day weekend, starting September 21 to October 27, between 10am and 5pm every weekend is a Fall Family Fun Weekend which includes most of the same activities.
