Brookgreen Gardens is one of the most talked about attractions in the Myrtle Beach area. It was designed by Anna Hyatt Huntington in 1931 making the gardens 83 years strong with an attractive beauty. Anna designed the gardens in a shape of a butterfly; in each corner of the wings a different garden was designed. The Gardens are known as a National Historical Landmark and has been listed as one of the top ten public gardens in the United States by TripAdvisor.
Brookgreen Gardens offer guided tours, concerts, sculpture classes, family festivals, and a variety of special events. There is even a zoo and museum for guest to visit while in the gardens.
A few events to look forward to are the Brookgreen Gardens’ Gullah Geehee Program Series which is offered on Wednesdays at 1 p.m, the yearly Brookgreen Gardens 5k/one Mile Race that takes place in May during the weekend before Memorial Day, the Art Festival, Wine Tasting, Camp Brookgreen, Butterfly House and Into the Wild Lecture.
