The Lower Niagara River Region of Niagara County is a great place for a day trip or a weekend getaway – here are some of the upcoming events taking place in the area.
Old Falls Free Outdoor Movie series – Thursdays through August at 9 p.m. on Old Falls St. in Niagara Falls. Movies scheduled: August 7th – Goonies, August 14th – Man of Steel, August 21st – The Wiz, August 28th – Ratatouille. Lewiston Art Festival – Saturday and Sunday, August 9th and 10th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days on Center St. in Lewiston. 48th annual juried show features more than 175 artists and crafters. Saturday will also feature the KeyBank Chalk Walk competition throughout the day. Find out more about the festival at artcouncil.org.
Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at Old Fort Niagara – Saturday, August 9th at 7:30 p.m. at Old Fort Niagara in Youngstowm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children, and include admission to Old Fort Niagara – guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Artparks’s Music in the Woods series – Sunday, August 10th and Sunday, August 17th at 4 p.m. at Artpark in Lewiston. The August 10th show features the Buffalo Niagara Concert Band Ensemble and the August 17th show features the Lexington String Quartet.
