Visit the Hottest Coffee and Tea House on Urth

From Vanity Fair to The New York Times, one L.A. based café chain is getting raves for setting the standard for the new organic coffee house. Urth Caffe is the 2010 hot spot for ladies lunching, celeb sightings, and the highest quality organic and Fair Trade coffees and teas.

What started as America’s first exclusively organic coffee company in 1989 became a new age café on Melrose in 1994, and has expanded to include three other locations around Los Angeles today. Whether you’re by the beach, in bustling downtown, Beverly Hills, or Melrose, there’s an Urth Caffe in your ‘hood. And not only do they offer over 100 varieties of the highest quality Fair Trade organic coffees and teas, but an extensive selection of gourmet salads, sandwiches and soups to boot. Urth Caffe commits to using the freshest local ingredients and preparing them in the most natural methods to keep coffee beans, tea leaves and produce in their purest form-they even own their own tea garden, where they help support the same family that has been farming it for six generations.

While prices for coffee and tea drinks are standard, about $3-4 for a drink to-go, a freshly tossed salad, even just a half size, will set you back $9 or so, and a gourmet entrée like the Nori Plum Rice Wrap runs about $12. If you don’t have time for a sit-down meal in one of Urth’s lovely locations, there are plenty of coffee and tea drinks to grab on the go. Delicious varieties of both hot and iced teas, along with even iced tea Boba drinks iced or ice-blended offer so many options, it’s a good thing there’s an Urth Caffe close no matter where you are in Los Angeles.

Aside from the convenient locations and fresh and unique menu, the defining element of Urth Caffe is their philosophy on organic ingredients, sustainability, and Fair Trade. Not only are they committed to providing customers with the highest quality coffees, teas, and fare, but ensure the steps they take to deliver these items are beneficial to all members of the supply chain, and of course, Mother Earth. Check out Urth Caffe’s website to read more about their philosophies, drool over the full menu, and get directions to the location closest to you!
