Visit the 51st annual Georgetown Christmas market

Colorado Springs moms are so busy this time of year getting ready for the holidays: decorating homes, baking, shopping.  Wouldn't it be nice to be able to feel like you were taking a break from the holiday madness, yet still get something accomplished?  It is possible!  Visit the 51st annual Georgetown Christmas market on 6th Street in Georgetown, Colorado.  You can enjoy a wonderful Christmas atmosphere with fun events and get some shopping done at the same time.  The drive to Georgetown is scenic and beautiful and it takes a bit less than two hours to get there (be sure, though, that your car is ready for winter driving!).

The Georgetown Christmas market occurs two weekends in December: the 3rd and 4th and the 10th and 11th.  The market opens at 10:00am and closes at 6:00pm.  Admission to the Georgetown Christmas market is free.  There is an outdoor European marketplace, entertainment, roasted chestnuts, appearances by St. Nicholas, Christmas historic museum tours, high tea, a wassail walk and even horse drawn wagon rides.

Georgetown is transformed the two weekends of the Christmas market into a scence that will remind you of Christmas long ago.  Many people visit Georgetown's annual Christmas market to go back in time and visit a small mountain town in which Christmas has not changed for the past 100 years.   You can see some of the events scheduled by clicking here to view the Georgetown Christmas market flyer.  For many Colorado families, visiting Georgetown in December becomes an annual family holiday tradition.  Visit Georgetown this weekend for the 51st annual Christmas market and it might just become a holiday tradition for your family.
