Through continued investigation and research, it’s quite possible that dedicated teams and individuals will unlock some of the secrets of life and death as they go beyond the veil that separates this world from the next.

Investigators experience high level of paranormal activity

St. Albans sits brooding, high on its hill overlooking the college town of Radford, VA.  This former sanatorium and once magnificent structure has seen more than its share of life and death and it remains a powerful symbol of both the best and worst of human experience. Many broken souls came here hoping to be healed and more than a few were treated successfully and went on to lead productive, successful lives. Others, more deeply disturbed and even violent, lived out the remainder of their days in this facility, the boundaries of their narrow worlds defined by daily doses of dangerous medicines and therapeutic techniques considered somewhat dubious or even outright quackery today.

The aura of St. Albans seems to reach out to visitors and envelop them even before they enter the massive structure. The atmosphere is heavy, almost something that can be physically felt, even by less sensitive souls. The hallways are dark caverns, with rooms opening on both sides every few feet, where the spirits of those who once lived and worked here seem to linger, watching and waiting and sometimes calling out in agony. The place itself is a maze, built on several levels, with unexpected twists and turns to confuse visitors. It’s easy enough to believe that St. Albans is haunted, based on appearance alone, but most who visit here eventually have their own encounters with its ghostly residents to relate.
