Rocheport, MO is a straight shot down I-70 East towards St. Louis. It is about an hour and a half from Kansas City, MO. The actual drive to this charming town is very beautiful this time of the year. Rocheport is on the Missouri River and the foliage on the drive is just breath taking. Rocheport is fun for families, couples, or just about anyone looking for a great place not far from Kansas City.
The Katy Trail
The historic Katy Trail runs through Rocheport. The Katy Trial runs along the northern part of the Missouri River for about 240 miles. It is the largest recreational rail trail in the United States. A rail trail is a railroad spur that is no longer in use and has been converted to a recreational trail.
Bikers, joggers, hikers, and horseback riders are welcome on the Katy Trail. You can even camp along the Katy Trail at one of the many public campgrounds. There have been sightings of Copper Head snakes and Timber Rattler snakes on the trail so make sure to keep an eye out and make sure to never engage any wild life

The third largest winery in Missouri is located in Rocheport. Les Bourgeous Vineyard and Winery is located here and is family owned. They are open from 11am-6pm every day and offer great events like tours and tastings.
There is the annual Rocheport Wine Stroll which is always the third week in September. Many Missouri wineries located along the Missouri River participate in this event every year. There is also a Crush Festival.

The General Store
The Rocheport General Store is a fun little place that every visitor must stop at during their trip. They have homemade ice-cream, coffee, wine, espresso, beer and every day groceries. They also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
On Friday and Saturday nights they have live music from 8pm-10pm. They also have board games for people to play while listening to music.
The General Store has been described as the “social hub of historic downtown Rocheport”. There are also antique shops and other eclectic gift shops located around Rocheport for shopping.
If you are a foodie you will find a great selection of upscale restaurants in Rocheport. There are also Wine and Food Dinners at Les Bourgeous four times a year and are typically on Thursdays. These events pair wines with a 5 course dinner.

You can also take a ride on the vintage Columbia Star train for Sunday Brunch or dinner on Friday and Saturday night.
