This Veteran’s Day, be sure to take your family to one of Georgia’s remarkable national parks and enjoy free admission! More than 100 parks nationwide are celebrating this fee free day through the National Park Service, including several right here in the Atlanta area!

Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in Atlanta is one right at your doorstep. Perfect for a nice scenic walk, leisurely rafting adventure, or a peaceful fishing trip. The park is open from dusk til dawn every day.

For a more educational adventure, the following parks are also participating in this fee-free day:

Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Site – view and tour the boyhood home and church of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. located on Auburn Avenue in the Sweet Auburn historic district of Atlanta, Georgia.

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Visitor Center – view preserved historic earthworks, cannon emplacements and monuments from the Atlanta Campaign.

Trail Of Tears National Historic Trail (Rome, Georgia) - Journey to remember and commemorate the survival of the Cherokee people despite their forced removal from their homelands in the Southeastern United States in the 1830s.
