Southern Living Magazine calls Chattanooga “One of America’s Top Weekend Getaways”. An hour and half north of Atlanta is the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chattanooga is famous for Ruby Falls, Rock City and the beautiful Tennessee River that divides the city in half. Downtown Chattanooga has The Imax Theater, The Tennessee Aquarium and my favorite the Duck Boat Tours. For $22 for an adult ticket you can take a tour of the downtown area and then a ride up the Tennessee River on the duck boat for beautiful views of the city. Try the River Gorge Explorer- which is a two to three hour river boat tour down the Tennessee River. Cruises take 2 hours. Please allow 10 minutes for loading and disembarking. The boat boards at the Chattanooga Riverboat Pier - two blocks from the Tennessee Aquarium. Refreshments & restrooms are available on the boat. Prices are $29 for adults and $21.50 for children. An Aquarium naturalist points out wildlife like bald eagles, ospreys, turkey and deer along the way. You’ll also enjoy learning about the rich history on every cruise.
