Visit a pet-friendly Santa in the Bay Area this Christmas

Bringing your child to see Santa is a rewarding holiday tradition for many, including those whose “children” are hairy and four-legged. Whether you are planning your holiday card or just want to see the wag of your pet’s tail, the NewPark Mall, Prescott Hotel, and Santa Clara Petco welcome all furry friends, feline and canine, to sit on Santa’s lap for a festive photo op.

“Pet Photo Night” is held on December 3, 10, and 17 from 4 pm until closing at the NewPark Mall in Newark. All pets must be on leashes or in carriers. Purrfect Cat Rescue will also be set up with cats available for adoption.

Farther up the peninsula in San Francisco, the SF SPCA is putting on “Santa Paws is Coming to Town!” at the Prescott Hotel. Seasonal refreshments (yes, that includes cocktails and wine) are available for owners while their pets enjoy tasty treats and toys. The event takes place on December 2nd, beginning at 2 pm. There is a suggested donation of $10 for the SF SPCA.

The Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) will also be hosting pet photos with Santa on December 8th from 11 to 3 pm at the Santa Clara Petco. A $10 donation to the organization is suggested.
