3D has been gaining a lot of steam in the video game industry lately with Sony announcing a future patch that will enable support on the Playstation 3 and Nintendo unveiling their 3D handheld system, the 3DS.
During their panel at PAX East 2010, Visceral Games commented about the possibility of including 3D support in Dead Space 2. They say that one of the tricks to 3D is that the HUD in games “doesn’t really get along with it cause it sorts of violates the space.” Since Dead Space 2 has no HUD, Visceral Games “would be a step ahead in that regard.”
Although it could be interesting, the developer stated that they want to concentrate on making a “kick-ass game for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC” first and foremost. The PC version of Dead Space 2 was initially confirmed but Electronic Arts later retracted their press release by stating that it was only “under consideration.”
Dead Space 2 will be released early next year.

Dead Space 2 has extremely poor to no 3d support. Don't spend a dime n this game if you are hoping for that kind of immersion. Visceral just doesn't get it. I pre-purchased the game, and have played through about 6 hours of it. The lack of 3D support in a new title is unforgivable. Even worse that they are already talking DLC content on launch day. These guys have it very wrong at a fundamental level. Don't waste your money unless you are satisfied playing in standard mode only.
i wonder if this 3d im games will stay or fade away? i dont know we will see if the 3ds will have the same effect on the market like the DS. and if it does then maybe next gen more devs will have 3d in their games but i doubt it really
