O'Fallon Police are warning residents of a scam involving VISA credit cards. Reportedly, residents have been receiving phone calls from people informing they are with the Security and Fraud Department at VISA. The caller claims that the the account holder's credit cards with a VISA logo have all been compromised and red flagged due to suspicious charges. At which point, the called manages to convince the intended victim to disclose personal information such as to verify the 3 digit security code on the back of the credit cards. Later, victims have discovered fraudulent charges to their credit cards within minutes of the strange calls.
