Viro's for Healthy Summer Eating

When I think of Italian food, I do not think of healthy low calorie foods. Pasta and more pasta dance through my head as those starchy noodles topped with luscious meatballs, sausages and an assortment of creamy sauces spell out high calories. Load up on the Italian bread, lots of butter and when all is said and done, we can walk out of an Italian restaurant with more calories than our body needs to be healthy.

Their chef salad is wonderful and filled with fresh green lettuce, ripe tomatoes, crispy cucumbers and turkey and ham. These fresh greens contain an assortment of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc and a variety of vitamins such as A, C, and E. Where else can you get something so tasty with such a high content of healthy nutrition?

Viro’s smoked salmon salad is a real favorite. Nice greens topped with thin slices of smoked salmon, capers, thin roasted red peppers, fresh ripe tomatoes and chilled asparagus. It is served with olive oil and spices. This salad is screaming healthy.
