The Virginia tax-free weekend 2013 is Friday, Oct. 11 through Monday, Oct. 14. Patch reports Oct. 8 that most energy-efficient products can be purchased during Virginia’s 7th annual Energy Star and WaterSense Sales Tax Holiday for the month of October.
In order for purchases to qualify for the tax-free offer, a product must cost $2,500 or less and have an Energy Star or WaterSense label attached to it. It can be purchased for personal or non-commercial purposes.
According to the report, Qualifying Energy Star products include washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, air conditioners, ceiling fans, dehumidifiers, and compact fluorescent light bulbs.
WaterSense products eligible for the Virginia tax-free weekend 2013 include bathroom sink faucets, faucet accessories, toilets, urinals, shower heads, and landscape irrigation controller.
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell said this in a statement:
“Even if you’re not in the market for new appliances, everyone needs light bulbs – and CFLs are included in the holiday. I urge everyone who needs these products to go out and take advantage of this long money-saving weekend."
