Virginia resident selling 1991 Honda Civic writes epically funny Craigslist ad (Photos)

Craigslist is chock full of ad’s for used cars and most commonly of the import variety, so how does the owner ( Gary David) make his ad stand out? Gary writes a funny little narrative featuring him and his girlfriend highlighting all the best features of his 70HP econohatch.Sometimes the lengthy long winded yet funny craigslist ad’s are the ones that get the most attention and for one North Virginian resident selling his 1991 Honda Civic hatchback, he did exactly that.

Gary David obviously loves his little Honda Civic having bought it off of the original owners then spending some well spent money and time to outfit it with some exterior and interior pieces that compliment the little econohatch. For example, he’s replaced the original steering wheel with one from a 91 Acura Integra (as compatibility would be peftect), replaced the old outdated suspension with better handling struts and springs and upgraded the tired old rims with something more mordern. All in all, whomever buys this car without even looking at the artfully crafted ad will be getting a well balanced and good mannered handling car that gets 30+ mpg.

Now for your reading pleasure, I’ve copied the best part of the ad word for word.

“Hello, my name is Garydavid, and here is my story:

Every time I drive this amazing 4-speed compact car, it brings me all sorts of attention! Men, women, animals and even children... They all love the car and they can't control themselves... More often than not, the women hit on me or try to make-out... even While I am driving!

For example, the other day, my extremely hot girlfriend and I were driving my 1991 Metallic blue Honda Civic down the infamous Route 7 and as I ran a yellow light my girl got all excited and happy and said, "this 4 cylinder 1.5 liter engine drives me crazy, and I notice that we never stop at gas stations! Is that because your car gets over 30 miles-per-gallon, and is still going strong at 140,000 miles? I hope so because I hate gas stations, the fumes are bad for my hair!"

You will never guess what happened next!... It's as if she couldn't control herself! She took off her seat-belt, and yes, only her seat-belt (don't worry, the civic does not have dual front air bags, it's a 91!) rolled down the manual passenger side window and hung outside the window (without damaging the car of course) so she could have her upper body outside the car. As we pulled into Tysons corners, she laughed and waved at all of the regulars. She then yelled, "Wow, it is such a smooth ride up here babe, you must have great suspension on this car! Oh, I love the Bike rack up here; it makes you look so sporty and athletic! ". "This song is for you sunshine!!" I yelled back at her. I then fiddled with my great car-stereo, turned up the bah bah bah BASSSSSSSS, and started singing along with, "You are the Wind Beneath my Wings" for all of Tysonians to hear. My girl smiled and sang along, and every once in a while she looked down at me and smiled. It was simply a beautiful moment in time that should be posted in history books.

All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a three-legged dog comes sprinting across the street... I slammed on the brakes and barely missed the poor pooch... -My Girl shouted"Wow, babe, that scared me, I thought I was going to die up here! But due to wrong offset wheels, your brand new tires, new brake rotors and new brake pads, well, well, well... You saved me!" She slid down back into the Civic Si passenger seat, grabbed my hand and said, "Baby, let's go home... I love a man with a reliable car."

When I told her it was time to pass on my beloved car a tear ran down her lovely cheek and begged me to keep it. She even threatened to not (you-know-what) for an entire month! I told her that change is good and that someone else deserves this special, special car, and hopefully some special, special love.

Email me ASAP... Because staring at it and knowing my baby will leave me soon is making me sad and cranky."
