Lobbying and lobbyists tend to have a bad reputation in this world, but without the process the world itself may be much less fair. Some lobbying events offer a unique experience for the general public to come together and speak their mind about what matters to them!
On Thurday, January 26th animal lovers are invited and encouraged to attend the Virginia Humane Lobby Day. This is an important opportunity to let state lawmakers know that you support animal protection and oppose laws that would allow animals to be hurt and exploited. It is also a good networking opportunity for anyone who works in the animal welfare world.
Sponsored by the ASPCA and the Humane Society of the United States, this one-day free event which will be held in Richmond includes several topics of discussion, such as: Animals in Domestic Abuse Situations and Exotic Animal Ownership.
Groups of attendees will meet with the State Senator and State Reprentative and the sponsors will assist everyone in preparing for the meetings by providing insider tips and animal-related legislation.
