Virginia Beach, Virginia is hosting family friendly New Year’s Eve events at the Town Center and at the Pembroke Mall on the last day of 2013. The Town Center is a beautiful venue for events of all kinds as well as a center for entertainment, shopping, and restaurants.
The first annual event is called the Last Night on the Town party. It starts at 2:00 pm in the afternoon with a myriad of activities especially designed for kids within the spacious Pembroke Mall. Music and magic acts will thrill the kids. Roving entertainment troupes will keep the excitement on a high pitch throughout the afternoon.
The main event activities kick off at five at the Town Center. A stage at Fountain Square will be the home for several different bands. Local media personalities serve as emcee and hosts for the activities. Area restaurants also are open with holiday celebration specials on their menus. Those of legal drinking age will be able to purchase beer and wine.
The countdown continues as the entertainment continues throughout the evening. Activities for kids of all ages will make the evening one of fun and frivolity in a clean and safe environment. The stage will be tagged the Countdown Square Stage, fitting for the countdown to 2014.
The turning of the New Year will be celebrated with music, noise makers and a very impressive laser light show.
Parking is abundant and close to the Town Center. There are many hotels in the area for those that want to remain downtown.
