A website hosting an auction for Brazilian virgin sounds more like a prostitution gimmick disguised as a push for charity. A virgin auction for Catarina Migliorini earned the young woman $788,000. However, her male counterpart earned a much smaller amount. The winning went to a bidder from Japan, who will allegedly be the first to, well...you be the judge.
E-zine, Huffington Post, said the 20-year-old woman has been the subject of an auction for her virginity over the last few weeks.
The virgin auction, set up by Thomas Williams Productions, began its search for a "pure" woman to take part in the event. As one can imagine, the applicants lined up.
However, Catarina Migliorini was chosen to auction off her virginity to the highest bidder. In the final day of this strange news story, 15 bidders fought back and forth, driving the price from $190,000 to over $780,000.
The winner of the virgin auction is a man only known as Natsu, a bidder from Japan, who will join Migliorini on a plane that takes flight between Australia and the United States, obviously to get around any prostitution laws. Imagine that?
Catarina, however, says that her intentions are noble and she plans to use 90% of the money for charity. According to the New York Daily News, Migliorini will help build homes for an impoverished area in her home of Brazil, thanks to the VirginsWanted website auction.
"If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer.
"The auction is just business, I'm a romantic girl at heart and believe in love. But this will make a big difference to my area," she responded in an interview.
The virgin auction winner and Catarina Migliorini, according to Australian filmmaker, Justin Sisely, will only be filmed before and after their "moment." The frolicking act itself will not be part of the documentary. That would make it a sextape, right?
The young Brazilian co-ed reportedly will be tested to determine is she is in fact a virgin, while Natsu will be tested for STDs. And get this: VirginsWanted stipulates that the act will be "pure." Therefore, no bedroom toys are to be used and safe-sex must be practiced.
Meanwhile, Alex Stepano, a male virgin, didn't fare as well as Catarina. A woman from Nene B was the highest bidder for his virginity. It set her back a measly $3,000.
