Gay-friendly Virgin America has announced two new routes from San Francisco.
This spring, Virgin will begin flights to Austin and Anchorage, both very gay-friendly cities. Both cities maintain Web sites geared to gay travelers.
The SFO to Austin -Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) begins May 21, 2013.
Also, starting June 6, 2013, Virgin plans seasonal service to Anchorage, Alaska (ANC) with six nonstop flights a week until Sept 9, 2013.

SFO to Austin fares start at $89 each way. Flights to Anchorage start at $199.
“Austin and San Francisco share strong cultural and business links, and the addition of Anchorage will allow us to offer seasonal service to one of the most popular outdoor destinations from our home in San Francisco,” said Virgin America President and CEO David Cush. “For the Austin route in particular, Virgin America’s service will provide more options for business travelers who want to stay connected during their journey between Austin and the San Francisco Bay Area. No matter which state their job is based in, guests on Virgin America can stay productive – even at 35,000 feet.”
Cush was referring to the WiFi and the power plugs available both in all classes of service on Virgin.
The new Virgin routes to Austin and Anchorage may ultimately prove very popular with the LGBT community.
