Old Spice | The Man Your Man Could Smell Like

Wondering if viral marketing can help your brand and your company?

Take a look at this: the most viral piece of marketing out today.

According to CNN Money, Proctor & Gamble who own Old Spice brand, decided to interact with the audience over the social media platforms and apparently, it made all the difference. To be exact, it made 13-million-views difference.

Creating videos today is a popular thing, but Houston business owners need to understand two crucial things:

1) videos are not just for the teenage skateboard punks
2) Google loves videos
3) Putting a video on the internet is not enough
4) secret to success

What does mean to you as a business owner, you might ask.Perhaps not much at the moment, but if so here is what you're missing out on. Google's YouTube has passed 1 billion views a day long ago. 1 billion views - not a lemonade, is it?

How would you like a small fraction of that traffic viewing a video that sells your business?

Google loves videos so much, that it will place the video on page 1 spot 1 within matter of minutes. How much do you pay for the traffic you will generate by being on page 1 spot 1? $0.00. Beat that if you can.

However, uploading a video to YouTube is not enough to get 13 million views, nor it is enough to place you on page 1 spot 1. The video has to be otpimized correctly (meaning right title, right description, right tags, right video structure).

Proctor & Gamble had really did it the right way, not only did they use the video, optimizied it correctly, but they added the part that propelled them above the crowd - they made the main character available to interact with audience right after the video was made available.

This interaction attracted 13 million views and even some celebrities.

Here is the CNN review of the strategy:
