Violence leaking into traditionally quiet Bay Area communities

A murder in Monte Sereno, the first murder in Campbell in six years, a child kidnapping and killing in the sleepy town of Castroville, and the homicide of two Santa Cruz police officers that was the first in history for the normally quiet surf town has community and police on edge in the Bay Area.http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/south_bay&id=9008944

The accelerated activity may be instigating police officer involved shootings as four suspects were shot and killed over the March weekend by police when suspects evaded, resisted or threatened police authorities attempting to take them into custody. You can hardly blame the police for using the force necessary for their protection or trying to subdue belligerent people. Directing violence towards police authorities is just plain stupid.http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_22708850/hayward-police-involved-shooting

The spirit of rebelling against civil authority has long been a problem. What is disquieting is that the general disrespect towards rules or regulations seems to be not only growing, but taking on potentially violent action in the most minor offenses.

Making your own way or rules tends to romanticize general rebellion. Even in traditionally conservative venues as the church, people that should be following the discipline of their faith are turning to actions contrary to their own religious belief system where oaths are taken.
The violence now is beginning to infest communities that have been traditionally quiet. Locations as Santa Cruz have seen more than its share in the surge of violence since 2013 began. One needs to inspect that a spiritual significance to the increase of violence and disorder should be considered.

Anything left to itself will begin to wax worse and worse. It’s a thorough demonstration of the laws of thermodynamics where anything left to itself will get worse. However, there is also a spiritual warning declaring society will begin to degrade due to slipping standards and moral decay in general. The Biblical warning concerning the love of many waxing cold may be a behavioral reason why there is a decline in compliance or respect for the law.

Our parole system is broke as many released people that served their time and are required to comply with parole conditions are routinely removing their GPS devices and begin roaming unabated. This includes sex offenders in the majority of cases where the GPS devices are removed. General disregard for minor cases can escalate to major problems as the two police officers in Santa Cruz tragically found out. These career criminals are being paroled or migrate to smaller communities in hopes of being lost in the shuffle.http://www.mercurynews.com/opinion/ci_22706938/mercury-news-editorial-parolees-who-remove-gps-trackers

Consequently, you have crime relocating with these people that are typically looking for or creating trouble. A favored tactic is to travel from a big city and cause mayhem in the smaller community before slinking back to their launch point. The murder in Monte Sereno was the first one in 40-years for the small community. It followed the scenario of the thugs going from a bigger city to a smaller one to commit criminal activity.http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Woman--192564181.html

Society is paying the price for teaching the standards of moral relativism and leaving what is right or wrong to each person’s discretion. You always have performance falling short of the standard, which explains why there is a continuing slippage of human standards and ethics. It’s a tragic self-fulfilling prophesy when you set lower expectations, it drives the lowering of performance.

This is one reason the standard for wrong doing is set at “nil” by God. When those rebel, they will miss the “nil” goal anyway, and if you set it at one, they will be ready to do two. If you set it at two, they will be anxious to do three. God understands human nature more than all psychologists combined. Common sense reveals we humans always find the way to ruin a good thing regardless.

“Be ye perfect as Your Heavenly Father is perfect” sets the tone of what God expects from each of us. When we fail, there is already a process in place to bring reconciliation and be cleansed back to righteousness.

This standard can work either in our small or large communities. It is a better standard than moral relativism which can justify any type of behavior.

There are many claiming Christianity; be it a church or individual. But there are far few that actually practice Christianity. Just because there is a cross on the front of the building doesn't mean it's a "Christian" church or organization. Jesus Christ warned that "many shall come in My Name...
