This Friday, January 31st at The Lab in Agoura, Vinyl Party takes the stage to provide good music for a great cause. If you find yourself in the Conejo Valley area this Friday, be there. If you are not in the area, get there.

Vinyl Party boasts a sound that's hard to define, but impossible to ignore. Remarkably blending hip hop, soul, funk, R&B, rock, pop, jazz, and just about any other genre you can think of, they are bringing back real music into a over-blown, over-processed musical world that can definitely use a hefty dose of reality.

The guys: J. Whiting (rapper, songwriter), Patrick McGinnis (Guitar), Sean Matthes (Bass), Kyle Patten (Drums), Carl Osterlof (Guitar, vocals), and Joe Rudd (Keys, Saxophone), pushed the musical envelope this past October with the release of "Shuffle This E.P." which is available now on iTunes here. The 5-track EP is an ambitious work and one that showcased what the boys can do. Considering how many different elements are fused together throughout the tracks, any music aficionado would be remiss to miss a live performance.

With the full length "The Great American Novel" released just yesterday, full of a bunch of awesome collaborations and most of the tracks produced by J. himself, Vinyl Party is in full, funky swing and their performance at The Lab on Friday will surely showcase some of these new tracks as well as filling the intimate setting with some classic covers that are sure to make you move and groove. You can find, listen to, and download the new tracks here.

All of the proceeds from the event are being donated to a dear friend of the band who is currently battling cancer. So get over to The Lab in Agoura this Friday, help a good person fight a tough battle, and treat yo'self to some real music from some unreal musicians. Oh, and don't forget to bring your dancing shoes!
