Walking up to Vinos in the Grove you notice people sitting on couches outside sipping on wine and drinking craft beers having a great time. Entering the wide open front a musician entertains guests as they sit at banquets sharing bottles of wine comfortably, near the back they sit at the small bar, not a frown in the house.
According to Amelie Canuel, people often refer the atmosphere to “Cheers” where everybody knows your name. Indeed there is a friendly vibe here, a real neighborhood joint that is hard to find in most of Miami. Perhaps it is the vibe Coconut Grove gives off. They do march to their own beat in the Grove; just attend the King Mango Strut.
At Vinos in the Grove they offer up to 25 wines by the glass, many more by the bottle and 15-25 bottles of craft beer. They use up to 18 different distributors to procure the best boutique wines available. Wines by the glass start at $7 to around $16 depending on the wine. With a local crowd including many ex-pat French clientele, California and French wines are the best sellers. With a strong before and after movie going customers, they offer cheese and charcuterie platters and special desserts. This is the perfect pre and post dinner spot as well. A great glass of wine before and after a movie or dinner is a way to extend your evening.
Hours start at 4pm weekdays and 2pm weekends until the evening winds down. A well-trained staff can help you choose the right wine for your evening. Amelie is a knowledgeable gracious host and owner, who can also aid in making for a great evening that will also ensure you, will be a regular and everyone will know your name!
