When one thinks of summertime events in DC, there are a few things that immediately come to mind: National Mall lawn concerts, Fourth of July fireworks, Wolftrap events, and for us foodies, restaurant week, just to name a few. Now, there’s a new kid on the block to add to the list; VinoFest DC.
Vinolovers, a family owned wine subscription company, held their first of what we all hope to be many VinoFests this past weekend, June 28th at Dock 5 in Union Market. From 2pm to 10pm you could find a cornucopia of libations as well as a spread of fare that would make any food lover grin from ear to ear, and that was just the tip of the iceberg, With phenomenal music and entertainment from Clairy Browne & The Bangin Rackettes, Sugar Bear and EU, and Jesse Boykins III, musically, there was nowhere better be!
VinoFest brought so much charm to the District with their specific detail to wine education. While many wine festivals and tastings offer a lengthy list of wines, Vinolovers provided a VinoFest Wine Passport; a comprehensive list of each wine describing their flavors and origins. Showcasing 12 wines from all over the globe, the wine passport made it easy to navigate and most importantly, remember which wine you fell in love with. After all, Vinolovers makes sure to remind us to, “Love the wines you’re with!”
In a city where work shifts last a little longer and ties can be tied a bit too tight, VinoFest carefully crafted a relaxing and cultured atmosphere to let loose, meet like-minded folks, and dance the night away. The standard has been set and all glasses are raised looking forward to VinoFest DC 2015. Salute!
