The fourth annual Vino California will be held on Wednesday, May 14, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the venerable Valentino. A coproduction of Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West, Blue Lifestyle and The Tasting Panel Magazine, this homage to Italian wine has gained notoriety as the premier West Coast festival of its kind.
Representatives of more than thirty A-list wineries from every viticultural are of Italy will be pouring, along with two breweries. Executive chef, Nico Chessa, has prepared a buffet of masterfully paired regional dishes. Given his years working with Valentino’s world-renowned Italian cellar, and flawless culinary skills, guests are in for great drinking and dining.
To me, the night’s biggest draw is the opportunity to experience wines rarely seen in the States. For example, when is the last time you locked your lips around a sparkling black vernaccia from the Marche, or tasted a blend of verdeca and bianco d’Alessano grapes from the Salento peninsula? Vino California is your chance to taste from Italy’s bounty of native grapes all in one place.
