Vincent D'Onofrio is cast as 'Daredevil's Kingpin

Vincent D'Onofrio is back to rule the streets of New York, as Deadline reports that the actor will playing the role of Wilson Fisk in Netflix's 13-episode Daredevil series opposite Boardwalk Empire alumni Charlie Cox.

Known in the underworld as the 'Kingpin', Fisk is rumored to control all of the crime in New York City, for he is the arch-nemesis of Daredevil, the alter-ego of blind attorney Matt Murdock.

The role of Fisk was played by the late Michael Clarke Duncan in 2003's big-screen adaptation of Daredevil opposite future Batman Ben Affleck as the Man without Fear and future wife Jennifer Garner as Elektra.

For ten seasons, D'Onofrio was on the right side of the law as quirky, eccentric NYPD detective Robert 'Bobby' Goren, a modern-day Sherlock Holmes, on Dick Wolf's Law & Order: Criminal Intent, where Goren and his partner Eames (Kathryn Erbe) solves major cases by profiling the mind -- and perspective -- of the criminal.

Daredevil is set debut on Netflix sometime next year.
